Aging at Home Update

The provincial Aging at Home Strategy was launched in August 2007 as a three year, $700 million strategy with a goal of helping seniors live longer and healthier in their own homes and communities.

Priority Action Teams – An Update
In early 2007, nine priority action teams were established with 250 volunteers selected from over 400 individuals who had expressed an interest in shaping the future of the health care system in the South West LHIN. Here is what they have done to date.

Ministry-LHIN Accountability Agreement updates approved by South West LHIN Board

At its June 25 meeting in London, the South West LHIN Board approved amendments to the Ministry-LHIN Accountability Agreement (MLAA) that covers the period from April 1, 2007 to March 31, 2010. The changes outline new requirements and provide improved clarity on the performance obligations that have been agreed to between the LHIN and the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care (MOHLTC).

Board of Directors

The South West LHIN Board consists of nine Board members who are appointed at different times and for terms that overlap to ensure continuity when changes occur.

e-Health Update
The South West LHIN has been selected as an early adopter of the diabetes registry, which is a core component of the Diabetes Strategy and a key part of the province’s overall e-Health Program.
