Accountability and Performance
Accountability
Local Health Integration Networks (LHINs) are required by the Local Health System Integration Act, 2006 to engage Ontarians in the health care discussion. Accountability and transparency are the keys to communities knowing what they are getting and helping to define local health care priorities. Performance
Performance measurement, reporting, and quality improvement (i.e., performance management) are fundamental to greater accountability, one of the guiding principles for system change. Measurable, outcome-based results will provide the evidence that is needed to monitor and report on the success of these transformation and integration initiatives. Strategic management tools, such as scorecards, will enable the measurement of health system quality, value, and sustainability. Click here or on the "Performance" link in the menu to learn more.
