Board Meeting, Board to Board Engagement Session & Public Engagement Session in Southampton

On March 28, 2012 the South West LHIN Board of Directors will be holding a Board Meeting, Board to Board Engagement Session & Public Engagement Session in Southampton (location TBD).  More details will be released as they are finalized.  The times are:

• Board of Directors meeting – 2:00-5:00 pm\
• Board-to-Board engagement – 6:00-7:00 pm
• Public engagement session – 7:00-8:30 pm

New Long-Term Care Home Begins Operation

A new long-term care home has begun operation in the South West LHIN.  The facility is located on the Oneida Nation of the Thames and named TSI’Nu:Yoyantle’Na’Tuhuwatisni or "place where you get good care" in the Oneida language.  The 64 bed facility began accepting residents on February 1st.  An opening ceremony is planned for the spring.  

Mrytle Ninham is a retired nurse and the second resident to be admitted to Oneida LTC

Physician Engagement Sessions - Fall 2011

The OMA and the South West Local Health Integration Network (LHIN) again partnered to host engagement sessions for all physicians in the South West LHIN area.  The objectives of these fall sessions were to:

• Update physicians on activities within the South West LHIN
• Obtain input and advice from physicians on our Access to Care key priority area, including e-health as an enabler
• Obtain input and feedback from physicians  around the challenges and enablers to successful implementation of Access to Care in the South West LHIN
