Renato Discenza, Chief Executive Officer 

Renato Discenza is an experienced senior level executive with over 30 years of successful management and governance leadership in public and private sector enterprises. He is currently the CEO at the South West LHIN, which serves almost 1 million residents. He has had many senior executive roles at Bell Canada and AT&T Canada; spanning operations, customer service, sales, supply chain, business transformation, and other corporate portfolios. Renato has been the CEO at Invest Toronto, a foreign investment attraction agency, and a Senior Vice President at Infrastructure Ontario. He has a diverse background in health care; serving as Executive Vice President of Strategy and Innovation at Hamilton Health Services, a board member of Credit Valley Hospital, Michael Garron Hospital, the Change Foundation, and Mohawk Medbuy, the shared services organizations for hospitals. Renato has sat on many public and private sector boards; including Waterfront Toronto, The Windsor International Airport board, an Income Trust board, Junior Achievement, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, and other community orientated boards. As a professional Engineer, with a master of business administration, and a certified director from the Director’s College, Renato is actively engaged in system transformation and lending his skills to help drive more integrated and patient-centric care in Ontario.

Hilary is a seasoned executive with over twenty years of experience in the health care system. As Vice President Corporate Services and Human Resources Hilary plays a vital role in driving organizational excellence and identifying strategies to enhance effectiveness and efficiencies in the delivery of patient care. She accomplishes this with her skill in forecasting capital, facilities, and staff requirements and successively developing effective action plans. Hilary is a true leader when it comes to providing expertise in strategic planning, project/change management and quality improvement.

Mark Brintnell, Vice President Quality, Performance and Accountability

Mark is a strong leader and strategic system thinker with over 17 years of experience in health care. As Vice President, Quality, Performance and Accountability Mark provides leadership for system and organizational efforts in enhancing quality, achieving better results, and attaining value for money. Mark is responsible for strategic oversight and operational direction in the areas of quality, accreditation, risk management, health service provider and patient services contract management, financial and program accountability, business intelligence, analytics and evaluation, and performance management and reporting at an organizational and system level.

Dan Brennan, Director Communications and Community Engagement

Dan Brennan comes to the LHIN with over 20 years of communications, public relations and strategic planning experience. With a passion for problem solving, Dan enjoys breaking down challenging issues with understanding, strategy and team work. Dan is a fluently bilingual communications professional who has gained unique health care perspectives leading challenging awareness campaigns, product launches, restructuring announcements and crises in Alberta and Quebec. Dan holds degrees in Mathematics, French and English and has completed the Canadian Securities Course. He currently sits on the Board of Directors of BioAlberta and was formerly a Board member of the Vimy Foundation.  
Picture of Lynn Hinds Lynn Hinds, Interim Vice President Strategy System Design and Integration

Lynn joined the South West LHIN in May 2016 as a System Design and Integration lead with a focus on meeting the needs of people who are frail and/or have medically complex conditions/disabilities. Prior to joining the LHIN, Lynn worked in the community health care sector for 18 years, providing leadership to a number of local and regional initiatives benefitting seniors, adults with physical disabilities, people who are palliative or at end-of-life, caregivers, and people with developmental disabilities.  She is passionate about working towards a better integrated system that provides people with the supports they require to age in place and remain connected to their community.

Daryl Nancekivell, Interim Vice President Home and Community Care

Daryl is a strong leader who’s been with the organization since 2013, formally with the CCAC. Daryl has held various senior roles with the LHIN, including Director and previously the interim Vice President of Home and Community Care. Before coming to the LHIN, Daryl held senior leadership positions in community care and social service agencies. He has significant experience and skills in planning and coordinating organized and effective service delivery within various health and social service environments.
