MRI Task Team
The MRI Task Team has now drafted Terms of Reference to guide the team as it works to identify performance improvement opportunities and reduce wait times. The Terms of Reference establish four specific priorities:
- Access management: To ensure individuals receive care within acceptable wait times
- Capacity building: To ensure response to future requirements in a safe, sustainable and cost-effective manner
- Accountability: To work within system and service parameters to provide equitable access to quality services
- Measuring, reporting and evaluation: To guide the identification, design and execution of performance improvement opportunities
The MRI Task Team has been formed by the South West LHIN, Grey Bruce Health Services, London Health Sciences Centre and St. Joseph's Health Care, London, to ensure patients of Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) services receive timely, high quality care. The team will serve for a pre-determined period, from December 2007 to March 2010, with an assessment of identified goals at the end of each fiscal year.
Reducing wait times for key health services is one of the Ontario government's top priorities and an important part of its strategy to transform the province's health care system. For more information, visit the Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care website.
